A device can be conformant on paper and still misbehave on a customer’s VMS. Conformance is declared per profile, at a point in time, against a specification with room for interpretation, and the gap between "we support ONVIF" and "your integrator can deploy it without writing code" is where the cost lives. There is also a date attached: ONVIF ends Profile S conformance on 31 March 2027, with Profile T as its successor and Profile V adding cloud video, WebRTC and an OAuth security add-on.

Client-side conformance for VMS platforms
The other half of the problem, and the half with less written about it. Making a platform consume conformant devices correctly, including the ones that interpret the specification loosely.
Third-party device validation
Testing vendor devices against your platform and documenting exactly where they diverge. The evidence integrators ask for and rarely receive.
Protocol-level fault diagnosis
Streams that drop, events that never arrive, PTZ that behaves differently through the VMS than on the device web page. Diagnosed at the wire, not by substitution.
Migration support
Analogue-to-IP and Profile S to T transitions across mixed estates, where several manufacturers have to interoperate at once.
Where an engagement usually starts
The usual entry point is a fixed-price audit of one product line or one device-to-VMS pairing, delivered in about two weeks. It is scoped so the decision about larger work is made with evidence.
What we do not do
We are not an ONVIF certification body and cannot issue conformance. We do the engineering that makes a device pass, and the testing that tells you where it stands beforehand.
